POSITION SUMMARY:

The Contact Tracer acts on the client’s behalf, using the phone and email to execute case investigation and contact tracing following client protocols. Exact protocols and processes for this role will vary by the client program. This role has direct contact with students, faculty and/or staff at each client location.

This is a part-time position with the opportunity to increase to full-time based on performance. We are always looking for great talent to join our team. We offer paid training and continuous coaching. 

Required Equipment (owned by Applicant):

  • Computer (with a minimum of 8GB of RAM and functioning webcam)
  • USB Headset with noise cancellation
  • Functional internet connection with a speed of at least 25 Mbps download speed
  • Cell Phone
  • Windows 10 or 11 required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calls positive and presumed-positive cases, close contacts, and otherwise exposed individuals from each client site, communicating in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Fully understands the protocols, processes, and expectations of each client program.
  • Also, receives and responds to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Follows the script to determine and provide quarantine and isolation guidance.
  • Collects and records information on symptoms, vaccine status, exposure, etc. for input into the case monitoring system.
  • Makes follow-up calls as needed, as well as calls to clear individuals for return to work/campus.
  • Initiates email communications per the defined process, to the correct distribution.
  • Required to use a personal computer and a company-provided VOIP system to complete work. Must maintain daily/regular contact with supervisor.
  • May be tasked with mentoring other staff on proper technology usage and other protocol adherence through one-on-one support or broader training sessions, leveraging approved documentation.
  • May be tasked with providing feedback on case monitoring, protocol development and to escalate issues to other PubSEG Teams for clarification or improvement.
  • May be reassigned or temporarily assigned to other client teams, as needed.
  • Models and reinforces VSA’s core values, which PubSEG has adopted as its core values. Supports a positive workplace culture.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE ENTIRE FIRST WEEK OF TRAINING FROM 9AM-5PM, MONDAY-FRIDAY
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Superior data entry skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Three years’ experience in one of the following: customer-facing role, healthcare, contact tracing.
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Other desirable experience includes: flexibility and ability to work with individuals who may be uncooperative and unpleasant.
  • High computer competency: ability to use email, learn case monitoring systems, use a keyboard and navigate the Internet.
  • Advocate for change and constructive feedback at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: Up to $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4- to 8-hour shifts
  • Day shift, evening or night shifts
  • Shifts available seven days of the week
  • Schedule may vary week to week

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Public health: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
