October 30, 2017 – Haddon Township, N.J. – VSA Inc. was certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) on October 26, 2017. Founded in 1997, the WBENC is is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. The certification process is thorough and includes documentation and a site visit to determine eligibility. VSA, Inc. is a B2B call center that runs telemarketing, lead generation and appointment setting campaigns for their clients.

VSA received its first certification from the WBENC about ten years ago. “I had a client at the time who was looking for a women business enterprise,” remarks Valerie Schlitt, president and founder of VSA. “I thought it would help my business to get certified but in the end I did not find that many clients were specifically seeking me out because of the certification so I eventually let it lapse.”

“However, about four or five years ago, something in me changed,” Ms. Schlitt continues. “My company had grown considerably and I began to feel proud of being a successful women business enterprise. Maybe it’s something that comes with age and maturity as both a woman and a business, but it became important to me to be certified just for what it meant to me on an individual level. I haven’t let the certification lapse since.”

VSA Inc. is not only owned and operated by a woman, it also employs a large number of women, many in management positions. In 2015 Valerie Schlitt was awarded Company of the Year by The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) South Jersey chapter for her commitment to women and her success as a women business enterprise.

“Going forward, I’d like to take advantage of all that the WBENC has to offer beyond just the certification, specifically its networking opportunities,” says Ms. Schlitt.
