Valerie Schlitt | Founder & CEO
Valerie launched VSA in 2001 after 18 years in Marketing Management and Consulting roles at American Express, Travelers, CIGNA, PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG Consulting.
Valerie believes her prior roles, which focused on delivering bottom line results, quickly grasping and developing solutions to client needs and the deployment of technology and process improvements, have proven to be the perfect background for her leadership of VSA. Plus, Valerie is a self-proclaimed workaholic and has an eye for talent.
Valerie earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School. VSA is a Certified Woman Owned Business (WBENC) and won NAWBO’s South Jersey company of the year in 2015. Valerie serves as a board member of the Professional Association for Customer Engagement (PACE) and of the Business Marketing Association (BMA) Philadelphia Chapter.
Maureen Tucker | Vice President of Business Development
Maureen joined VSA in 2011 as an Account Manager and served in a variety of capacities until her promotion to Vice President in 2015. Maureen helps VSA clients achieve prospecting goals by quickly understanding their needs and designing programs to meet them. Maureen thrives on new challenges, has unsurpassed energy, and excels at managing client growth while maintaining high quality results.
Maureen came to VSA with a diverse background that is a great match for her current role. Her business background is in corporate safety and environmental health, as well as sales and marketing at both ALCOA and Addison Wesley Publishing Company. Additionally, for many years, Maureen taught children with special needs after earning her NJ Teaching Certification and State of NJ Endorsement for Teacher of Students with Disabilities. The combination of strong business acumen and considerable instructional expertise has given Maureen the foundation for creating winning programs for our clients.

Michele Plunkett | Vice President of Operations
Michele joined VSA in 2011 as a Client Associate and has been promoted three times since then. Initially, Michele worked on business development initiatives for VSA’s most complex clients while raising her family. Not new to sales, Michele began her career as a Sales Management Executive after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Sociology from the College of New Jersey. She also earned a minor in English. Michele was thrilled to be promoted to Program Manager at VSA in 2016 and has been a member of the management team since. She is adept at understanding client needs and making decisions to surpass program expectations.
While still managing client programs, Michele began leading VSA’s Technology, Facility and Associate Development teams. Michele loves a challenge, enjoys training Associates and working with clients to grow their business beyond the scope of their goals. In early 2017, she was once again promoted to Director of Operations and in September was named Vice President of Operations. Michele looks forward to helping VSA continue its strong growth and introducing more personalized services to our clients.
Lisa Dougherty | Senior Program Manager
Lisa joined VSA in 2011 after co-founding and running a successful medical equipment sales and service firm for over 20 years. Her entrepreneurial experience, knowledge of business operations, and commitment to delivering results for clients have made her a great asset to VSA. Lisa started as a Client Associate and consistently worked for VSA’s most challenging clients.
In 2013, Lisa was promoted to Account Manager. Lisa has mastered many different aspects of VSA and over the years has played a major role in recruiting new Associates to VSA, especially during our periods of steep growth. She has also been on teams to develop new technology to streamline programs and enhance results. In September 2017, she was named Senior Program Manager.
Mark Simmons | Program Manager
Mark joined VSA in September of 2016 as a Client Associate and quickly rose to the rank of Program Manager. Throughout his life, Mark has lived in Hungary, Estonia, and West Virginia. In 2011 Mark graduated from West Virginia University after studying political science, language, and history. He specialized in Slavic and East European Studies and the German language.
After graduating from WVU Mark settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and started, owned, and operated a walking tour company. Mark is passionate about management and ensuring client success as well as improving systems. He is equally passionate about his avocation of acting in films in his spare time.
